CHÂTEAU DE BELET
More than five centuries of documented history in the heart of the Dordogne. Château de Belet is the birthplace of Alain de Solminihac (1593–1659), Bishop of Cahors, and occupies a historic landscape whose story reaches from the Neolithic period to the present day.
A DOCUMENTED PROVENANCE
Château de Belet's recorded history extends for more than five centuries, documented through leases, testaments, marriage contracts, parish registers and cadastral plans. The estate was associated with the Belet and Solminihac families and was historically known as Reyssidou before the name Belet became established. It is documented as the birthplace of Alain de Solminihac (1593 - 1659), Abbot of Chancelade and Bishop of Cahors.
